The Time Is A-Flyin'

I am 1 month away from graduation.

Which means I am 4 weeks away from finals.

Which means I am 3 weeks away from the last week of classes.

Which means I am 2 weeks away from my last day of work in retail.

Which means I am 1 week away from starting to pack up my life from here.

These past four years will be wrapped in just a few weeks. It's slightly bittersweet. But mainly just sweet!

I Have Issues...

Okay folks, let me be honest with you here. I have an ever-growing addiction problem right now. The addiction is to buying precious, precious little girl clothes from my work. The two items pictured here (a precious yellow sundress and a gorgeous, belted white coat) are just the latest editions to the quite large, ever-growing pile. I just can't help myself! They were getting clearanced out and were cheap. Stupid cheap, people. Add my 20% off discount on top of that and I just can't help myself! Dave Ramsey would be so ashamed of me...

But I'm sure you are all thinking, "Well, that's okay, she has two adorable nieces. I'm sure she gives all those clothes to them! How sweet!" Hmm, let's see here... I have two extremely adorable nieces...true. I give all of these clothes to them...unfortunately, false. You see my dear friends, these clothes are for my unborn, even unconceived!, adorable children of my own, of whom I have no idea if any of them will even be girls! Perhaps one day I will have a very cutely dressed little girl, or just a very large garage sale as I live in a house full of boys! Like I said folks, I have issues...

Gonna Leave This Town Behind, Edition #2

Today's adventure took Mike and I to Falcone's! I swear all of our places we go to won't be restaurants... haha! But this place is another one of our favorites here in Edmond. It is a true Italian pizzeria and is simply great! A funny story about this place...when it was being built the owner, Danny Falcone, wanted to have awnings put at the top with red, green, and white stripes to resemble the Italian flag. Well, here in Edmond decisions like that have to be approved by the city council. Unfortunately, they turned him down, so he showed his disapproval by hanging a sign right next to the menu that has the heading of "Your business is not welcome here..." and then individually names each person that was on that city council board! Don't mess with the Italians, people!

Mike got a slice of cheese pizza, which is so big that you have to fold it in half to eat it, as he is demonstrating here. haha!

I got a stromboli, which is just full of yummy deliciousness!

And if you go to Falcone's you have to get a cannoli! Well, I suppose you don't have to...it would probably be a smart decision not to get one considering how many calories are in those things... But since it was Mike and I's last time to eat there, we definitely had to get one!

Birthday Time!

Yesterday, March 3rd, was my 22nd Birthday! It was definitely a wonderful and fun day! The fun actually started around 10:00 the night before when my husband mysteriously disappeared. He then reappeared around 11:00, not without first sending me a text message with a reminder that it was already my birthday on the East coast. haha! He then bursted through the door with cupcakes and flowers! It was so sweet and definitely made me smile. Then the next morning, not two minutes after my alarm had gone off, Mike came walking into the bedroom singing “Happy Birthday” while carrying a donut on a plate with birthday candles in it. And then, not even two minutes after that, I received a call from my mother with a chorus of 4th graders yelling “Happy Birthday Vanessa!” It was definitely a great way to wake up! Then just an hour after all of that my work called to tell me that they were cutting my shift for the day. That really had nothing to do with my birthday, but I decided to count it as their present to me!

Since Mike still had to work on my birthday we went out to celebrate tonight. All I really wanted for my birthday this year was a pair of Tom's Shoes (if you don't know what this is, please follow the link). So we headed over to Shoe Gypsy to see if they carried any that I wanted. Of course, they didn't, so we will just order a pair online (I think I'm going to get these!). After that we headed to Bricktown and had a very yummy dinner at Zio's followed by a simple walk around the area. It was quite nice, especially with how great the weather was today!

It has definitely been a great time of birthday celebrations and it’s not even over yet! Mike and I get to go into Tulsa this weekend and celebrate with family on Friday night and have another birthday celebration with friends on Saturday night. It has been and will continue to be a great birthday week!

Cupcakes!

Flowers!

Mellow Yellow

As most of you know, I became diagnosed with endometriosis in December of 2007. Endometriosis is a disease that currently has no cure and affects many, many women in this world. Thankfully, it is not life threatening, but it is definitely life altering (it caused me to be in menopause at the age of 21) and can greatly affect a woman's fertility. Well, March is National Endometriosis Awareness month and, more specifically, March 2nd this year was Yellow Shirt Day. Yellow is the color for endometriosis so this is just something simple to do every year to raise awareness for the disease and give a little nod to those who are suffering from it. So here is my hubby and I wearing our yellow shirts today! I am so blessed to get to have him by my side throughout all of this!

It's Only Getting Closer

May 1st is just two months away now. I can hardly believe it. Such a big moment that has been 18 years in the making. Good grief, I am so ready to be done with 18 years of school!! I am very ready, but also very scared. The entire who, what, where, when, and why questions of "after graduation" are completely unanswered for both Mike and I right now. We have absolutely no clue what we will be doing come May 2nd, or where we will be doing it. This has been a time where we are having to heavily rely on Christ and trust in Him. It's not easy, but we're doing it. I know that God will take care of us and no matter where we are or what we're doing, I'm just happy that I get to keep doing it all with my very best friend!
