Well, 2008 was a good year and a bad year. Aren't they all, though? Here are just some of the biggest things that stood out in my mind from the year.
It has definitely been a very emotional year health-wise. At the end of 2007 I was diagnosed with endometriosis, which started off my 2008 by taking monthly shots of Lupron treatment that put me into menopause for 6 months. After that ended in June, things just seemed to get more frustrating and confusing from there. My body is doing things right now that no one really understands, which has resulted in me being tested for an abundance of possibilities. We're not really sure what's going on at this point, but I have faith and hope for 2009 to bring answers and great health.
In June I finally got married! It was incredibly exciting, stressful, overwhelming, and fun - all rolled into one! And if I'm going to talk about my wedding at all, I must mention my mother. The whole thing simply would not have happened without her. She was an incredibly patient and loving mother who helped put together an amazing day while dealing with a tired, stressed out, menopausal bride!! Yes, she is amazing.
Followed by my wedding, I got to spend a week on an amazing honeymoon. Mike and I took a Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean and it was so much fun! I loved getting to spend a week of vacation with my best friend, and I still miss that trip every day.
On October 31st my very first nephew, Solomon Priest, came into the world!! He was an absolutely wonderful addition to my two adorable nieces that I already had. I love him so very much and can't wait to watch him continually grow up and become cuter every day!
Without a doubt, the absolutely best thing that happened in 2008 was that I got to marry my very best friend. I don't care how cheesy it sounds, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have loved being able to live with my best friend and no longer having to say goodbye to each other at night. He has been my rock during this year and I probably wouldn't have made it out alive without him. I love sharing all of my moments with him and continually look forward to all the ones that are to come.
As I said, it was a good year and a bad year, but they all are. I greatly look forward to 2009 and all the wonderful and challenging things that it will bring.
